If it seems that there is a plethora of carnivorous vegetation present across the land of Titan, always ready to consume a hapless peasant or three, than the situation in the Demonic Pit is demonstrably far worse, with a gallery of herbal horrors all set to devour anything unfortunate enough to blunder into their presence. One such terror are ACID VINES - thick, bloated rope-like creepers that are purple in colour, and climb and writhe across surfaces like fat worms. These creepers attack with thorny tendrils that cause Small Claw damage and exude a purple acidic sap that causes 1 STAMINA damage per Attack Round unless the victim spends one Attack Round wiping it off.
Even worse, anyone wounding a clump of Acid Vines with an edged weapon has severed one of the vines, spraying the corrosive sap everywhere, where it fizzes on contact, causing foul-smelling clouds of vapor to rise in the air, hissing like gas and in turn causing coughs and spluttering. Everyone in contact with the ACID VINES suffer 1-6 STAMINA from acid sap damage (and must immediately spend an Attack Round wiping it off or suffer further damage), and reduces their SKILL by 1 for the rest of the battle due to the acrid vaporous fog that has been produced.
Hailing from the Pit, Acid Vines are unaffected by fire, ice or electrical damage at all, however attacks that wither or cause decay may prove successful. They are found anywhere on Titan where there is evidence of strong demonic corruption, such as the presence of a Demonic Prince, the placing of a successfully enchanted Black Keystone upon a structure, the site of a major Chaos conflict, etc. In fact, some have spread beyond these sites, and it may be possible, when hacking through some twisted wood or thorny jungle, to have the misfortune of encountering a clump of rogue ACID VINES, bloated purple tendrils all a-quiver in anticipation of an easy meal!
