Dice of Logaan (#3/30, #94/365) [EA:V2] (Artefact)
These were rumoured to be a gift from Sindla, Goddess of Luck, to the Trickster God Logaan, and in turn gifted to one of his most powerful servants, such as the Riddling Reaver. The Dice of Logaan appear as a regular set of two small ivory dice that sit atop a satin cushion. They are powerful magic items, and any time their bearer is not in combat, they may elect to roll the Dice of Logaan. Take a pair of dice and nominate one as 'plus' and one as 'minus'. Roll the pair and subtract the result of the 'minus' die from that of the 'plus' die. Apply the final result to the character's LUCK score, but only up to its Initial value. LUCK can also not be reduced to below zero.
Example: If the 'minus' die is 4 and the 'plus' die is 3, then the Hero who rolled the dice would lose 1 point of LUCK (3-4=-1).
Alternately, the dice may be used as a last-ditch measure in combat. If the Heroes are doing battle, they may do down their opponents by means of the dice. Take a pair of dice and nominate one as the SKILL die, and the other as the STAMINA die. Roll the dice and note the results. You should then take the value of the SKILL die off the opponent's SKILL, and the value of the STAMINA die off the opponent's STAMINA. If the Heroes are fighting more than one opponent, you should tell them the results, and let them divide the penalties among their opponents as they see fit. Throwing the dice in this manner can only be done once - the dice will then lose their magical powers.
Some claim the Riddling Reaver still has the Dice of Logaan in his possession, at his mansion-retreat in the highlands near Arantis. Others say the Riddling Reaver, while conducting a ceremony to destroy the Pendulum of Fate, disappeared in a mysterious explosion when the Dice of Logaan were hurled at him by an intrepid adventurer, as the power of the Trickster Gods of Luck and Chance themselves was turned against their servant.
