The DEVIL BUG is a horrid creature that congregates in buzzing omnivorous swarms, equally happy stripping leaves from trees or flesh from bone when hungry. In such a swarm there will be between three to eighteen Devil Bugs; the scores given above are for one individual insect. For every second Devil Bug add 1 SKILL, 1 STAMINA and 1 ATTACK to these scores, so ten Devil Bugs would be SKILL 7 STAMINA 7 ATTACKS 7. The adult form is particularly striking, being an insect about the size of a fist, with a purple carapace covering two wings, and sharp biting mandibles. Worse still are the Devil Bug larvae - if ingested, these little horrors will eat their way through their host's internal organs, causing 1-6 STAMINA damage worth of agonizing pain per Attack Round, until the host is dead, or magically cured of this parasitic infestation with a spell, potion or priestly power. Devil Bug larvae thus make for a spectacularly macabre if not particularly subtle poison when added to food or drink, and have been known to be used by such nefarious types like Zeedle the Ferryman, of the Scorpion Guild of Assassins.
