An Inn of Dust Town

The Inn of Yellow Lamps (#10/30; #100/365)

This hastily constructed inn of marble blocks and pillars that have been hurriedly cemented together, was built over the ruins of an old Carsepolitan temple to Telak, God of Courage. As a result of this sacrilege, the wine cellar is haunted by a POLTERGEIST and anyone venturing there (such as serving staff, trying to tap kegs of ale), must do so in protective armour to dodge and shrug off all the wine bottles that the undead spirit hurls about!

The innkeeper, Kalin (one-handed (ex-pirate), brave), is at their wit's end trying to solve the problem. The priests of Filash are too busy with their own hauntings and political issues to help, and the priests of the Sand God have no truck with liquor-sellers, as they advocate abstinence. Possibly the best person to ask, other than any Heroes who may be priests of Telak, is Rimam from Pellod (see #39), but Kalin does not know of them or their abilities.

As a result, staying at the inn is currently dirt cheap at 1GP a night for excellent rooms, and a further 1GP for hot food and a mug of ale (no wine is available). The house special is Desert Bison steak garnished with herbs and spices, and the drinks available include Pellod's Pride, grog, and Sidiki. Anyone sleeping a night here however, only gains half their normal STAMINA from resting, due to all the wailing and smashing of glass coming from the Poltergeist in the cellar.

(Yay! I've made it to 100; over quarter of #dungeon23 completed!)
